Interior Design in Challenging Times

These days, it feels like the world is constantly shifting under our feet. The news cycle can be overwhelming, politics can feel like an endless tug of war, and the pace of life doesn’t always leave room to breathe. In times like these, I’m reminded just how much our surroundings matter.

Our homes are more than walls and roofs—they are sanctuaries that help us recalibrate our emotional energy. The colors, textures, and pieces we choose to surround ourselves with have the quiet power to ground us, to reconnect us to what’s most important, and to remind us that beauty and calm are still possible. Home is where we can come back to ourselves in body, mind, and spirit.

It’s easy to think that the big answers to our world’s problems will come from politics or policies, but I believe change often begins much closer to home. It’s in the simple, human

moments with our families, neighbors and communities—rolling up our sleeves, sharing what we can, and simply showing up for one another. Sometimes the best way to spark that connection is as simple as inviting someone over for a cup of tea, a glass of wine, or a heartfelt chat around the table.

These shared spaces matter. They hold us through uncertainty and give us the courage to keep going. When I step back at the end of the day, no matter how loud the world outside may be, my home always reminds me of the same truth: love is the answer. Love for our families, love for our neighbors, love for the spaces that give us comfort and allow us to be fully ourselves.

Interior design, at its best, isn’t about perfection—it’s about creating environments that nourish us and give us strength for the challenges ahead. In these times, perhaps more than ever, our homes can become the grounding force that holds us steady and the place where connection and love can flourish.
